Withdrawal of Manuscript

The Indonesian Journal of Management and Organizational Innovation (IJMOI) recognizes that authors may occasionally need to withdraw their manuscript after submission. However, withdrawing a manuscript that is already under processing wastes valuable resources, including the time and intellectual effort of the Editorial Board and our volunteer Peer Reviewers.

To maintain the efficiency of our publication process and deter unethical publishing behaviors (such as simultaneous submissions to multiple journals), IJMOI enforces the following strict manuscript withdrawal policy:

1. Withdrawal Before Peer Review (Permitted) Authors are permitted to withdraw their manuscript without any penalty only if the request is made before the manuscript has been sent out for peer review (i.e., during the Initial Desk Review stage). The corresponding author must send a formal letter of withdrawal via email to the Editorial Office, clearly stating the reason for the withdrawal.

2. Withdrawal During the Peer Review Process (Strongly Discouraged) If an author requests to withdraw a manuscript while it is actively under the peer-review process, it is considered an unethical academic action. The reviewers and editors have already invested their time in evaluating the work. In such cases, the journal strongly discourages the withdrawal, and the Editorial Board reserves the right to impose a temporary ban on the authors from submitting future manuscripts to IJMOI.

3. Withdrawal After Acceptance (Strictly Prohibited) Withdrawing a manuscript that has already been peer-reviewed and officially accepted for publication is strictly prohibited. At this stage, the journal has committed significant time and financial resources to copyediting, typesetting, and preparing the manuscript for publication.

  • If an author insists on withdrawing an accepted manuscript without a compelling and scientifically valid reason (e.g., discovering fatal methodological errors in the data), the author will be subject to a strict Withdrawal Penalty.
  • The corresponding author and all co-authors may be blacklisted and barred from publishing in IJMOI for a period of up to 2 (two) years.
  • If the withdrawal request is submitted after the Article Processing Charge (APC) has been paid, the APC will not be refunded under any circumstances.

How to Request a Withdrawal Any request for withdrawal must be made formally by the Corresponding Author. The author must submit a signed "Withdrawal Request Letter" detailing the precise reasons for the withdrawal. The manuscript will only be officially considered "Withdrawn" after the author receives a formal confirmation email from the Editor-in-Chief.
